Constitutional Amendments
The BHSS held a general meeting on April 12th, 2012for all faculty members to attend. Chief among the issues discussed concerned amendments to the current BHSS Constitution. Quorum was reached and all of the proposed amendments were passed! A summary of these changes are listed below:
Amendment #1 – Administrative & Reflective Updates
Broadening the roles of BHSS Executive Members
- Making them focused on addressing the needs of bhsc students
- Updating role requirements to include transition reports
- Expanding roles to reflect current duties such as making the financial coordinator in charge of the bhss inventory and the second year rep responsible for holding a second year transfer integration night
Amendment #2 – Lengthening the terms of Second, Third & Fourth year reps
Involves lengthening the terms of the second, third & fourth year reps so that the positions are elected in the bhss spring elections and can begin their work over the summer
Amendment #3 – Constitutional Amemendment Voting over LearnLink
Involves allowing for amendments to the bhss constitution to be possible through both learnlink & general meetings
Amendment #4 – Changing the Off-Campus Coordinator to the Internal Coordinator
Involves expanding the role of the off-campus coordinator to runnnig extra-curricular initiatives for all students
Inspired by:
- The lack of consistency events ran by the off-campus position
- The desire for new initiatives to be fronted within the student community
